Welcome, this site has been created to give suggestions on how to run your state contests in Internetworking.  The contests were designed to mirror the national Internetworking  objectives. You may use all or parts of the contest. The design will help you run your contest efficiently and fair. In this package  are the Contest Standards, Online self-grading Test, Cable making, Router Configurations, and Online Design Configurations. We have also included possible scenarios for you to follow.

Scope of the Contest

The contest will consist of three parts:

  1. professionalism,
  2. written,
  3. hands-on evaluations.

Professionalism:

The purpose of the Technical Assistance Call, interview, and dress is to test a student's ability to demonstrate their professional attitude, communication and personal skills.  

Professionalism  Suggestions on scoring

(TAC) Technical Assistance Call format has changed to make the problem and the contestants situation more real from the customers point of view.

Written Evaluation:

Design Contest
The design evaluation is  an interactive online activity that should take 40 minutes to complete. 

Online Test  
 If you are online it is self-grading, otherwise email bschoenh@cisco.com for the answers to the test.  The test should take 50 minutes.  You must be in-charge of the contest to receive this email. Please have proof in your email. Proof ( Where and when the contest is to be run and persons in charge)

Please test the reliability of the online grading system before the contest.  Have the answer key ready and have the students  save their page if the result do not show when you press the submit button.

This file will give you a step by step process to help in creating your own Internetworking Contest files.

Hands-On Evaluation:

Router Configuration/End to End Networking
The router configuration and the End to End Networking are combined at the state level. This file contains the problem that is to be handed out to the contestants. Estimated time is 1:30. NEW There is a Packet Tracer 4.01 Router Configuration! Be sure to read the restrictions.

Cabling

This file contains the procedures for making the patch, crossover, and rollover cables. Allow 30 Minutes for this part of the contest
